Two routes to shared suggestions

ReelRecs Watch+ vs TasteGraph’s link-based couples picker

Compare the invitation and setup requirements, with TasteGraph details identified as vendor-reported.

Consider Watch+ when you want shared discovery inside ReelRecs with separate profiles and a group. Consider TasteGraph when a private invitation link fits how you want to start together. Both routes require input from each person. This is a workflow comparison, not evidence that either produces better recommendations.

What the providers document

ReelRecs’ walkthrough starts with rated accounts. Participants join a Watch+ group; its example follows a shared suggestion and each person’s recorded interest. Joining can differ by the friendship state shown in the app. It does not establish an anonymous link-only flow.

TasteGraph says each person rates ten things and adds an email to keep the picks. One person sends a private link that expires after seven days. Its page says this invitation does not require a public profile or username, and that each person’s ratings stay separate. Those are vendor-reported behaviors, not independently verified guarantees from this publication.

Choose by the effort you both accept

If both people already use ReelRecs, trying the group flow may be a smaller step than starting elsewhere. If you prefer sending an invitation to a partner on another device, inspect TasteGraph’s requirements and privacy terms before entering information. A link still leaves a rating task for the recipient. It does not remove their need to participate.

Do not decide solely by the number of taps claimed on a landing page. Ask whether both people understand what will be shared, whether they want to retain a profile, and whether they can recover the shared choices later. We have no comparative speed or retention test to answer those questions for you.

For one choice tonight

If you already have a few films, our local two-person worksheet can compare visible votes without accounts or remote invitations. It does not generate candidates. When recurring suggestions are the goal, read the relevant provider’s complete setup first.
